As a kid I always used to have these best friend necklaces like a broken heart that fitted together. But somehow there was always someone that felt left out since there would be no piece for them. Still I love the symbolism of wearing something that suits another. A token of belonging together. I wanted to create this as community. They’ll all fit into one another or be similar. Showing our authenticity within the collective. I like to give them as a gift to let someone know they’re ‘Dol-Fyn’ (translates to something like ‘very fine’ in Dutch). On the backs there’s a hidden’ sentences that, when together would tell the complete story. We all carry a piece. I like the idea of people all around the world wearing a part of one another, unknowingly who and where. We are interconnected.
